Dutch-Indian pianist Ischico explores music in all its shapes and colors. With a distinctive mix of her own music and that of other composers, she seeks a real connection with her audience in every concert.
 

Her debut album Kleurstof (7MNTN) was streamed worldwide and reached the Apple Music Classical Global Top 50. In her own pieces and improvisations, she blends her classical foundation with folk, pop and jazz. She loves playing music you don't hear every day, from forgotten piano pieces to contemporary music that grabs you right away. Like her audience, she enjoys being surprised by new crossover collaborations.
 

Others describe her playing as effortlessly expressive, technically fluent and full of color. She is a fan of pianists like Tigran Hamasyan and Nitai Hershkovits, of pop artists like Spinvis and Mk.gee, and of folk music, and you can hear all of it in her own music. She doesn't let herself be pinned down to a single genre. That curiosity earned her first prize at the Lamond Prize. She was featured as a Young Artist in Pianist Magazine and appeared in several Dutch media, such as the popular magazine LINDA.meiden.
 

She has performed internationally in Barcelona, Dublin, London and Glasgow, and in the Netherlands at venues including Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and at the Grachtenfestival. Her music has been broadcast on radio stations including NPO Klassiek, Radio New Zealand and SBS Australia. She completed her double piano master's in Glasgow and Barcelona, with masterclasses by Dmitri Alexeev, Joanna MacGregor and Jacques Rouvier.
 

She finds inspiration in everyday things like hiking, good times with friends and family, and travel. Those snapshots find their way into her pieces, and she loves sharing them with her audience. After all, that's what it's all about: connection.
